Our Story

SIKRE | sik·re | /ˈsiː.krə/

verb / adjective (Norwegian origin)

To secure, protect, or make safe against extreme conditions

We are Alicia and Dan Strieby and we founded SIKRE alongside our children, Colter and Leona - out of a desire for self-reliance and better gear! When a layoff scare threatened our stability a few years ago, we decided to build a family business and chase the American dream behind American manufacturing.

The drive behind SIKRE came from years of hands-on experience living across the Rockies, and traveling all over North America, including a short stint trying to live in our camper when Colter was less than a year old. Spending years of our free time off-grid made the flaws in standard roof boxes obvious: thin plastics, weak hardware, and designs built for highway commuting rather than hardened travel. Instead of settling for highway equipment, we sketched a few rough designs on the back of an envelope in December of 2022 - focusing on structural integrity, a low profile, and materials built to withstand cold weather and harsh abuse.

Today, our family runs SIKRE out of Utah, manufacturing our roof boxes here with reinforced polymer shells, stainless and aluminum hardware, and integrated mounting tracks. With many more accessories on the horizon. Our goal is simple: build secure and rugged roof boxes that handle whatever you throw at them, giving you peace of mind on your adventures.
