Built for Real Use: The Start of Sikre
Most roof boxes are made for highways and parking lots. They look okay, hold gear, and survive a few winters before hinges start to fail, or the thin shell begins wearing down. The traditional roof box isn't built for enthusiasts like us. They’re not built for charging mountains and dirt roads, while also keeping your gear safe and secure. That's where we decided to give this thing a go.
How Sikre Started
We built Sikre because we wanted an American-made roof box that could take real-world abuse. We wanted something we didn’t have to baby, something that could handle rough terrain, ice cold days, and the occasional low-hanging branch without cracking or leaking. So instead of waiting for one to be built, we made it ourselves.
What We Build
The Reika 17 was the first result of that mindset. Built to handle the toughest conditions with a reinforced polymer shell, stainless hardware, and double-lock security. Next came the Ramr 11 designed for everyday use in a smaller footprint. All while being built with the same rugged durability, proving that smaller doesn’t mean sacrificing toughness. The modular interiors of both boxes can be configured for skis, tools, hunting and camping equipment, or recovery gear.
Why It Matters
Durability isn’t just a marketing term for us it’s a design requirement. Every part of a Sikre roof box exists because something else failed us or underwhelmed us in the field. When your gear’s frozen, caked in ice or mud, or tossed around on a rough road, it needs to keep working. That’s what drives our builds and testing process.
What’s Next
We’re continuing to refine and will be expanding our lineup, keeping the same standard that started it all: American-made, field-tested gear that outlasts the journey. Sikre is here for other enthusiast who push their gear to the limit and expect it to keep up.
